Doug I just picked up the mack 1962 flats from Mack they are squirrel and ox hair mixed. They hold acrylic very nice and have some snap. Mack also has a lettering quill with this same hair blend they are pretty sweet to 839 series. Call Mack they will help you with your brush needs. http://www.mackb...

Thanks for the info Joe, I did alot of researching and calling paint manufactures to get the make up of the clears and varnishes. I went with the marine high end clear awlgrip. The tech guy at awlgrip was very helpful and knew there products very well. If you don't know already the awlgrip clear is ...

Erik, I bought the high volume hand pump sprayers from the local Hardware stores. I have been using the Angel Gild spray silver solution with these guns with great results. I mix up the chemicals and pour into the sprayers: 1 with silver solution and activator in one bottle 2 with reducer in another...

Thanks guys, I did use Turps for the reducer for the asphaltum/size mixture, turps is more pure than mineral spirits right? I also use the right amount of tin as called for and rinsed very well before silvering.

Would Permalic have sulfur in it? I do have some of that as well.
