Transfer motive on reverse glass gilding..

Hi, and long time.. but I´ve started to experiment a little with glass gilding again :-) I have a question about techniques to transfer a motive after the gold is applied to the back side of the glass. I guess one method is to draw the motive and cut holes with a pounce wheel and powder the motive c...

Re: Some new motorcycle gold leaf..

Thanks a lot! :-) When painting or drawing people, I always try to choose a "cartoonish" style, since the lack of skills to make them look realistic.. but I´m practising :-) In US I guess there are quite a few leather workers doing this kind of work, but in Norway, I only know a few, but n...

Some new motorcycle gold leaf..

A couple of motorcycle projects I´ve done after getting the new gold size from Gilders (http://letterheadsignsupply.com). I´m no expert, but so far, I have to say I like it better than the 1-shot fast size.. Still want to try the Rolco too, but I´m very satisfied with this one :-) A friends sportste...

Re: 276ccm: My work and progress..

Defiantly and I´m very grateful for the help, tips and suggestions I get to improve my skills and work.. So far I´m still liking the "7" with the horizontal line over it, but not yet finished with the final design so I really appreciate all the feedback to see what works better :-)

Re: 276ccm: My work and progress..

Thanks for the feedback! I´ll do some testing when more of the "Sanborn" project is illustrated to see the over all look of the piece..The horizontal line I did in the previous 7 was maybe a little much, but just wanted to see if I understood it right :-) Not sure I´ll keep it exactly like...

Hmm.. I´m not quite sure what you mean about "a horizontal bar", but it´s probably me, struggling a bit with english terms.. as Norwegian is my main language :) But I´ll try to figure it out. Really appreciate the feedback tho! :-) When I made the "6", I copied the "2" ...

hehe I wont shoot Anthony! :-) Feedback like this is a good way for me to learn.. I was just looking at it and was thinking it looked a little strange too.. is it the area in the sircle you are meaning is wrong? Re: 276ccm: My work and progress..

Was following your advice Dan and sketched the 276 again, then drawing it in illustrator (I see there are still some things to fix) and fooled around in Photoshop to try to make it a little more "Sanborn" :-)

Yea, it looks a lot better right away and the "weight" of the 276 is a lot more even, and still keeping the straight lines of the numbers . Really appreciate your tips, thank you! :-)

Thanks a lot for the feedback Dan! You are absolutely right, the space between 2 and 7 looks a little too open.. I´ll try some different variations and see whats look better. I guess I´m some times blinded by looking too much and getting "used" to what I´m working on :-) This feedback is s...

Back Up Black from Gilder´s question

Hi, got a package in the mail yesterday and as I have never used Back Up Black from Gilder´s before, I´m just curious.. is it supposed to be this thick? Like thick tare? I can hold it like this (up side down) and after a minute I can see it slowly on it´s way out of the can. Is it supposed to be pai...
