Pat, I hope you'd chime in on this. Thank you very much for the info. I think I can get good headway on this now.
Off to try and find some amber colored glass...

Trying to figure out this glass process
These signs we in Cleveland's Union Station. I am trying to figure out how they were made. The textured part does not seem to be acid etched, but more like the texture on some stained glass. The glass itself has a ochre color to it. They were backlit, with light shining through the letters. The nega...

Oil size problem
Has anyone experienced this before? 23F9CE38-9814-4F0F-A444-82171B2F4CE1.JPG The size starts to crawl a couple minutes after putting it on. I am using the Charbonnel 12 hour size from LHSS. The background was painted weeks ago with some Sherwin Williams oil based enamel, so it's fully cured. The bru...

Re: Cleveland Signs
I'll flip photos around next time I make a post. Sorry for bothering anyones neck  Mike, that is a good one indeed. It's too bad I didn't actually have a full shot of it, but I had a couple close up detailed shots because the lettering is so on point. The same person did the other bowling sign ...

Cleveland Signs
First topic I've made here. Figured I'd post some signs around Cleveland where I live. There's a lot of ghost signs here. I haven't flicked them all, and I see new ones all the time. Will dump another batch when I have more to add. Hope ya dig!

Re: California Conclave 2000
Thanks for sharing this, awesome to look at.
I really like those frames that look like they're made out of copper/brass pipes (like the on piece that says "GOLD SIGNS"). Are they easy to make/is there any information on how to frame glass like that?

Re: The Forum vs Facebook
Mike and others, I have been silently viewing this forum for the last two years or so. It has been a huge help to my progress in sign painting and gold leaf work. The search page is one of the tabs of my home screen. I just recently made an account after seeing it pick back up a little (I thought it...
