Hi Joe, Flash Time to me means the amount of time an Oil Size takes to flash off or get rid of it's solvents. So it is ready to Gild. A test patch should be laid dawn at the same time on the same surface as a "test area", when this is ready if you ran your oil free knuckle across the area ...

Hi Kevin, Both gold sizes were Lefranc. Their 12 hour is very dependable. When vertical screen printing we do mix 30% quick with 70% slow. Flash time is over night. Test patch is essential. I have also been using Letterhead Sign Supply's quick size by itself on glass and surface gilding. It holds a ...

Hello Fellow Gilders, We're still gilding in Boise. At least a window a month , sometimes a Docs office sometimes a restaurant sometimes just a detail. Sometimes just for fun. There is nothing more beautiful than a properly gilded window. Everything is expensive these days but you can still sell it....

Yes folks we're at it again. Professor John Studden, and Noel B. Weber will be teaching a three day Gold Leaf workshop October 6,7,8. in Boise Idaho. Cost of the class is $600. We will be covering basic to advanced gilding techniques. Anybody interested please contact John or Noel for more details

Hi Mike,
Here are a couple of progress shots. We acid etched the type, then did a gilded blend 12k to 23k. Boarders and other elemnts shades of gold. Lots more work, were having fun.
