I've noticed over the years that a lot of furniture, particularly tabletops and cabinet doors are laminated out of narrow boards....kind of like a bowling alley. I would imagine that would eliminate a lot of this cupping phenomenon. It just seems like lumber in general is getting worse and worse in ...

Obviously you've received some good advice from some good people. You've heard what routers cost. Now, do you have the volume of work to pay for the router? You know, the bills will keep coming, whether the work does or not. If you have good skills with hand tools, a decent volume of work, and a cra...

Larry, I've not tried glue chipping yet, but am wanting to. The dry glue you refer to, is that powdered?

Obviously, I need to do some studying.

I think you're right about not wanting to commit to using acrylic paints to letter, Mark. I've never had much luck, unless I wanted to double-coat, which I usually don't. I've got several quarts of Aquacote that someone gave me several years ago, but I've resigned myself to using it for painting pos...

That's an awesome piece of work there, Wayne. Come on, you can tell us....it's vinyl, right? I'm kidding, I swear. Honestly, it's very impressive. But I have to ask, and would bet there are others wondering the same thing......You have a good amount of time just putting the basic structure of the si...

That's what I meant, Kelly. It sounds like a witch's brew of some kind. I found it fascinating, though I was sure somewhere "eye of newt" should be included.

I think it's a good step forward, Kent, for printers to have separate cartridges for each color. It seems so stupid and wasteful to have to replace a color cartridge just because one color is gone. Of course, that's what the printer companies want to happen; but I believe this new idea is a good one...

Talk about making samples......many years ago, there were two brothers, the Raiford's, from Texas. A couple of articles about them appeared in Signs of the Times, along with tons of "samples" of their work. Seems that when they got a bid on a job, they'd do an actual miniature of the full-...

Whew, I'm glad that's cleared up.....in more ways than one. As a new poster here, and since we are on the general topic, I need some clarification on clearcoats. Quite a few years ago, I used a clear from Danacolors called Crystal Clear, and acrylic clearcoat. Over the years, I got away from it; but...
