Re: Titanic Letterheads 2012

Sorry folks, but the event is cancelled. My wife Helen says she won't be able to cope with a baby and help run a large meet at the same time and I certainly can't organise it all on my own. So unfortunately I have no choice but to cancel the meeting now rather than waiting to see if help will be av...

Look forward to meeting you folks. I know it is a long way off but we really do mean to make this an event you'll remember for the rest of your lives. Dave, that's a fantastic idea, I'll get onto the curator of the museum and Titanic Exhibition and see what he can get. We'll have to organise a good ...

LOL, Mike. I saw the movie at the cinema when it came out and thought the signs were great too. I didn't say to the rest of the family as they would just roll their eyes and sigh. When my other half and I were first dating she used to think that I was nuts when we were out inn the car as I would loo...

I never assume anything when i it comes to measurements. I always ask the customer which is the width or height, a bit like the old saying... 'measure twice, cut once'. Following on to what Wayne said, here in the UK we say 8x4's, but for photos it's 8x6's, 10x8's, etc. It seems where you folks put ...

For a signwriter to produce such perfect lettering it doesn't make sense that the kerning is so poor. Without a doubt, a repro job, probably not gold leaf either.

I did a little research and found out a bit more about the Crown Bar. From the mid to late 1800s a regeneration of the catholic faith led to many new churches being built in Ireland and to meet the demand many craftsmen from all over Europe and in particular from Italy, came to Ireland. In the 1880s...

Re: Glass at the Crown Bar Belfast

Hi . it seemed strange to see some glue chipping on English pieces which are possibly over 100 years old. Are the pieces English, Dave? The Crown Bar website mentions Italian craftsmen working on the decoration of the pub. I would love to know some of the history of the Crown bar pieces. I will hav...

Letterheads 2006 - Scotland

Hi, great site. I've been lurking around here for some time and thought it about time I said hello. I'm form Northern Ireland and have been a signwriter for 25 years. I've just returned from my first Letterheads meet in Scotland and I must say I had the time of my life, I'm now a confirmed Letterhea...
