Re: Backing of a reverse glass sign question

Hi Oliver, When I have to back up lettering with a panel like you have done with the red, I mask out the area and use a 1/4" black poly foam roller. These rollers come in 12" length usually, so I cut them down to about 4". When rollering on the paint I can come back and lay it off nicely so it appea...

Re: Painting Mag material...Help!

Bob, you could just lay vinyl down for your background color. Your going with vinyl letters, may as well make it an all
vinyl job, collect the moolah and be done with it.

Re: Backing up Silver Gild

Hi Jen,

That looks really good. Don't use silver leaf. Use 12k gold leaf. It is 1/2 gold and 1/2 silver and
won't tarnish. Back it up with back up enamel. You can get it here http://letterheadsignsupply.com/glassgi ... amel-paint

Biker piece

This is just a smaller piece I did for one of the club members. He wanted lots of MOP after looking
at some of my other pieces. It's backed up with the club colors as they are on thier jackets.

There are quite a few items not listed that are hard to find items.

Pinstriping

I striped this bike over the weekend. It has about 18 feet of 23k turned gold with a plum colored outline and some dark red stripes. The red only shows in just the right light. The guy wanted things simple so I think it worked out for him. I also did the tank and ferring, those pictures where quite ...

Re: Glass Etching Cream

Erik, Etching cream doesn't "etch" any depth, just a light frost on the surface of the glass. It doesn't produce a clear etch like HF either. I have wondered though if it could be used to abraid the surface enough for hide glue to grab on to. If it could be used in that situation we might have heard...
