I started with paraffin oil down South, then lard oil up here, then that disappeared...maybe motor oil?? for a time, then neatsfoot oil, but found it dried up to soon (not using brushes often enough??) use Walldog OIl brush preservative now, with a can of Percells Lard Oil at the ready when the WD r...

Charles, i would say basically the same thing as Billy Bob..it's about manipulating the hairs/pushing/pulling the paint around. The occasional times i have given lettering lessons, it's getting to know what the brush can do, oh yeah, you're Supposed to be in charge! :roll: the particular styles come...

Hi Charles, way back, i used some glycerine to combat crawling of showcard paint on a slightly slick type of paper. nowadays, i use it like oil on my quils,stripers, that is, after cleaning brush, work glycerine into the hair/heel...wash out w/water when ready to use again.
