Re: Elaborate Victorian Style Mirror

Wow Dave, that's quite the masterpiece... done by a true master.

Thanks for all the effort in keeping this type of glasswork alive for us and
generations to enjoy! I seem to come up short on words when viewing your
work. Beautiful stuff Mate!

Also are there any ways of applying it in this manner without it cracking due to the curve, and what m...

Pacific Coast Sign Supply

This was for the local sign supply here. Silvering done at the town of machine, thanks Larry. The bird is pearl, hard to see due to the camera phone. http://i290.photobucket.com/albums/ll270/jdbme/2011-03-10_11-02-49_822.jpg http://i290.photobucket.com/albums/ll270/jdbme/2011-03-17_09-55-25_278.jpg ...

Re: Font Creating Software

Hi Rodney, If you plan on selling your fonts I would recommend fontlab. There is much more work involved than just drawing up vectored letters though if you plan on selling. It also requires the correct type of points in the correct places and the kerning. If these fonts are for your personal use th...

I just let the glue dry to a brushable consistancy and kind of lettered it on.
Here is an example that were for gasoline pump globes. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the follow-up Jeff. I'm going to get myself some of this glass just to have on hand as it is nice looking.
The work I needed to do was a lot easier, just masking and then blasting off the top color to reveal white copy.

Re: The making of sheet glass

Thanks everyone for the responses. Pat, I tried CR Loo. They had some but not the nice ruby red. The closest color was an off pink. They said that this type of glass was made in France known as flashed glass, and had not been manufactured in years. The Germans also made this for a short period. They...

I recently had to turn a job down because I could not find a supplier of the ruby red on clear glass.
If anyone knows of its availability anywhere here in the U.S. I'd like that info.

Keep posting Erik,
