Re: Glue Chipping Project

Two cents, from the end of the line..... Firstly, nice design! I like that symetrical layout. Looking good! Me. I woulda silvered it first. I would be fairly paranoid in submercing the gilded area under all that water. Having said that, Rick Glawson told me when silvering over any previously done in...

I tried to sell it back to you, boy. Best make peace with your bad deeds.... Now, how many glass signs does a fella need? HOW MANY? I've got right around 150....most made from my own hand... some made by some of my pelt wearin' trapper friends. I do not know what is to become of me. I hope and pray ...

Hold on!...now just hold on!

I don't buy reverse glass signs, I make 'em!

So I've decided to part with this original Rawson & Evans sign I have.

Twill, I've always thought that men like us do sandblast work because we can. Because we're better at it than most. Well, it beats punching cows or digging copper. Or soldiering. You can do it on glass, or wood, or metal, get paid regularly...and you sort of know when to do it and how. Like on wood ...

Now ya see there..... Just finished up this little gem, for a friend. Executed on a stock mirror. Whipped out my Jackinson Main Street Collection, threw down some obsolete Letterhead Font, sandblasted it from the backside, 3 tone paint fill and some aluminum flitters, framed it up, ready to ship! Hey Tench, why don't you come out here and say that!

Bragg...in closer examination, the outline in Corel is all "line" segments, not curves...hence probably the need for so many nodes. However, the resulting VM processed graphic, the outlines ARE all curves, with the control handles.

FYI, Computer Art Node Reduction...

I don't know if this means a hill of beans to anyone... but I noticed that when using the "Interactive Contour Tool" in Corel Draw....some people call it the Offset Tool, I like to call it the Outline Tool... the resulting outline would have way too many nodes defining it, and I'm not sure why. As a...

So, that being said, it would lead me to believe that CRL Bituminous Coating, just might be asphaltum. CRL Bituminous Coating ...and for $134 for 5 gallons, that's $6.70 a quart....5 gallons just might last the duration.... Anyone....like Pat.....know if this product would work as asphaltum? -TBF .

I was afraid there may be a lightning bolt when I showed Rick Glawson my first reverse glass sign, and if the Lord had chosen to send one, who could blame Him? Most of you know who I am. My name is William Blake. And I’ve been a vinyl slapper for some years. Now, some time ago, I came face to face w...

Re: How to make Asphaltum Varnish...

The Green Frog will have one easel, I'll do reverse glass signs and showcards both, but mostly glass signs. I'll try to run it myself for a while if I can keep good help, and I'll have to learn how to screen print. Or I'll just give it all up and sell it and go out and live at the Salton Sea. Maybe ...

How to make Asphaltum Varnish...

Found this on the internet.... Asphalt, also known as asphaltum, is used in varnish form as a resist for acid etching, blacking for wrought iron or as a dark varnish and sealant for wood. Asphalt dilutes readily in turpentine. When an asphalt-turpentine mixture is applied to a surface, the turpentin...

Hamilton Bank Note Co.

I sold this sign many years back to Danny Bussell. I'm sure it was passed on to his heirs, but I often wonder where it hangs.

So did you check the date code off the other remaining tires?
I went out and checked mine, they are 111, bought 'em in April.
