Re: Gettin' with the times....
ok, here's another tip... I took another workshop a few years back from Alyson Stanfield. She wrote a book called "I'd Rather Be in the Studio". The book and the workshop are focused on marketing so we can be productive in the studio. When it was over, all I wanted to be is back in the stu...

Hi Jeff, Thanks for posting Tom's work. I was able to meet Tom Perkins about 5 years ago, at a week long, Cheerio calligraphy retreat in North Carolina. His wife, Gaynor Goffe, was teaching Italic Calligraphy upstairs, Tom was teaching carving into slate downstairs. I could not pass up Gaynor's clas...

Re: John Mayer, Born and Raised Album Cover art
When I grow up, I want to create an album cover like David Smith or Roger Dean. Seriously, great work, David. An excellent example of no matter what medium an artist works in, or a sign maker, hand lettering or vinyl slapping, the most important ingredient is design. You are living proof of just how...

Look Kid,
I don't believe I would use Gator Foam outdoors.
I would not hesitate to use HDU, cost is absorbed by the client. Knowing the product will hold up for years is the first step to a good nights sleep.
You can use PVC with the same peace of mine.

Rod, Do you have more information...? First, I determine where the letters are going to be used.. interior or exterior, 10' and above or below 10', and what surface will they be adhered to. Are you creating the letters from your design, hand lettering style, or are you using a standard font availabl...

Way to go, Rod.
Lettering on walls is not only fun but profitable.
I prefer to stand on a scaffold or sumpin.
You might consider that...
your lines look a little bouncy from jumpin at that.
