Re: Gold Leaf Starter Kit
Hello Olivier, Hello from Nederland. In France there are some people who do the gilding, some better then others. In France there is goldleaf available from mainland Europe, English goldleaf and US goldleaf is made in these two countries. The best brushes in the world are made in France and Germany....

Re: Oil paints and Enamels
Hello Julio, I once heard from a Dutch oldtimer that he bought the paint and opened the can without stiring and on the top of the paint is the layer of medium floating. He flushed about 15-20% of the entire volume of the new paintcan in the waist and then mixed the paint thoroughly and added a few d...

Re: John Stevens Calligraphy brushes and paint
Quote from John Stevens: The brush: Windsor & Newton 995 | 1/2 inch (1.27cm). Many broad edge brushes will work, but this offers a great combination of "hair memory" and control. Longer hair brushes will give a bit more control, but do not snap back into a broad edge as quickly. Of co...

Re: My first reverse glass
Hello Andrey,
It certaily looks good for a first piece.
Is everything done on the reverse side of the glass?
It looks like the gilding is on the front side of the glass.
Maybe a few close ups?
Good luck on your next piece.

Black glass
When Kelly, Pat, Inga and I visited the Czech Republic, a few years ago, we saw some beautifull black glass tombstones and shopfronts. Since then I have searched the whole world to get this black glass, but it seemed to be not available anymore for decades now. Only one company in the us promoted th...

Re: Stockton Court House Glass wall
What Dave says Pat, seriously good. This job has your name written on it. How is it possible to fill in those miniscule points with paint, when the mask you make is rather thick (I guess) and when the mask must be still very dusty from blasting? Or can you hose the dust down easily with water? Yes v...

Re: illustrator question
You CAN use the round corners command of Omega also in Illustrator.
If i recollect correctly you can find it under filters: reshape or something.
If you want to use the vector lines latter you must ' expand appearence' first.

Good to hear your experience, thank you. Call me old-fashioned, but I still feel strange renting a product. I have the same feeling with company cars: I do buy a car and do not want to lease it. But if the price is better at the end... such a strange concept to get used to. Please keep us updated wi...
