Re: Screen print a 3 color image
I think Erik is right on the cmyk as you can buy inks for cmyk but I'm not sure how one would accommodate the rgb as you would have to guess at the colors and what might you get, as I would guess. Nice approach Erik has on the color seps. Tell us how you come out with this project Roderick and post ...

This sign is a real beauty Tony, and don't forget Danny Baronian's
great fabricating job too.
Say Danny, how did you do the curved arch piece over the sign?
I'm guessing a Signfoam situation.

How is Windows 7 on resources Mike? I think I heard Vista
was pretty heavy on the system resources. can't help but
wonder with all the bells and whistles that the new operating
sytems have if it doesn't make machine a bit slower.

I find it interesting that Dell will still offer Windows XP with
their new systems if you choose. Makes me wonder if
Winows 7 is living up to itself. I know Vista went down in flames.
I would be happy staying with XP. Does anybody out there like
7?

I agree also. Even in these times lowballing will come back to bite you, always. These times will not be around forever and yes it is tough at times. This low bidding has a snowball effect also. When you do this work for x-amount and he tells his friends who did the (cheap work), guess what, New Fri...

Nothing short of beautiful! Can't help but wonder what the
sign police of our local communities would have to say if we
tried to do something similar. I think I'm going to paint my
garage door and see if I don't ruffle some feathers.

I tried Norton 360. Vowed to never go Norton before but wanted to see if they have changed and ending up dumping them again. As Robare said just way too intrusive. I have another product I have used for some time now. While not a virus protector it will do spyware and Windows maintence, i.e. registr...

I'm not sure what he said but I agree with him 100% -------------------------------- O.K. in all seriousness. Dave Smith Video???
Isn't this interesting that Erik made a post on videos. I was just getting ready to write one for a very likely candidate Dave Smith, to do a video (for profit of course) on gold leaf techniques. What say you Dave? Now that I have aired this I hope you make this jump and maybe make a few pesos while...

1. How is biz. 2009 I would just as well forget about. Kinda scrary at times. The phone quit ringing. The first 6 months of 2009 when the stock market was taking 900 point dives didn't do much for optimism with the buying public. Still a lot of reticence as I see but am more optimistic for 2010. Re: painting on awnings
Yvette, Vinyl inks do the trick for lettering on vinyl awnings. It's been awhile since I ordered vinyl inks though. I seem to recall they are pretty smelly. You might try multi-purpose inks also. I would get a sample of vinyl from your awning people and do a sample. If you have a sign supplier close...

I have one other idea that I personally would not have a problem with. Lord adhesive and VHB tape could surely do the trick but I would think about 3M - 30NF water based contact adhesive. Orbital sand both pieces and rub down with alcohol. Make sure you go on straight as 16' is a long way. Try a tes...

I'm curious Bill. I thought I heard Jay say you were using Dana Colors but your reference to colors are with the artist colors i.e. ultramarine blue, burnt umber etc. I guess I thought the Dana Colors were in the graphic mode i.e bright red, dark green, etc. Maybe you just mix your colors to a burnt...

Very interesting Jay and Bill. A black and white against a sepia tone.

I would not trust Frog Juice either.
You might think about putting 1000 or 2000 grit sandpaper to
it first. I looked at the Everbrite on the web. Guess it would
help to hear from those that have used it.

Ask Roland Corp. tech support what they think of UPS.
They absolutely won't use them. They told me that packages
are dropped off a conveyor belt 20-30 ft. They go FedX
with much better success.
