Roderick,
Give us an idea what exactly you are fabricating. I can't quite picture what
you might be putting together.

Re: Fax Machines...

Should be noted I have two phone lines. 1st. Line: main business line 2nd. Line: internet and fax On another topic is the phone service altogether. I was considering going VOIP (voice over internet) Seems that there's a lot of that popping up i.e. Ooma Telo, Magic Jack to name a few. The land line c...

Winfax is the way to go. I have a cheapo thermal fax hooked up in tandem for when the
computer is turned off the thermal picks up the faxes or maybe I just need to
fax a number of papers.
As far a anthing with liquid ink printers, faxes etc. I gave up on that. Dry only.

Re: Are you an S-Corp.

Thanks for the response guys. As a (prospective) accouontant explained to me the benefit is in the 'self employment tax' when you go S-Corp. Getting audited are less in S-Corp. as opposed to 'sole propieter' he says. I did a little digging myself and Googled this idea. Found a link that backs up the...

Interesting comments Mike. I was going to do a topic that read "Are We Better Off". I too remember the early days when the Gerber III arrived on the scene and everybody was clamoring over the way of the future. I was first on the scene to go to Midwest Signs (then Amco). to see the new mag...

Are you an S-Corp.

It has come to my attention that becoming
an S-Corp. can give you a nice tax saving.
Just curious how many are and how do you
feel about being an S-Corp. Currently I am
a sole proprieter.

I did think about the yellowing. The package said crystal clear.
West Systems will definitely go yellow on one, different applications
though. Hope I guessed right.

Re: Applying mother of pearl to reverse glass

Just finished a project with adhered abalone. I had a pair of 1"x4" pieced to adhere to glass. I ruled out the UV glue by Letterhead supply. Tests didn't give me confidence. Next I went with Frog Juice. Near disaster that I was fortunate enough to remove the abalone. The Frog Juice never r...

David,
You hit the nail on the head. Dull and hazey
would describe the look. I think Danny touched
on something too. That is that maybe the
gelatin triangles are just old. Think I will get
some new stuff also.

-Cake Bon-Ami like the bar soap stuff.
-After I do the electrical orbital appliance I water
off the Bon-Ami and tissue it dry as to maybe
clean off any Bon-Ami specs I think.

Wonder if we can beat this dead horse again. As I just finished my new shop window I need to see what could possibly be the solution to my cloudy gild. Can't seem to get away from this. the only way I was able to do o.k. this time is that most of the lines are less than 1/8" and you would have ...

I would say that there is a number of elements going on but that in itself doen't in my opinion make a design ineffective. Re: L'art pour L'art

I think what he is indicating Ingrid is that an actual painting
on canvas was done x2 and then adhered to the glass via
the varnish mix. I can see how this fooled you. I thought
I saw a bit of canvas in one of the above pictures.
BTW what is the varnish mix you used Erik.

Absolutely beautiful Erik. I baffled by the pictorials. I'm (guessing)
you painted a canvas and adhered. Maybe you can give us some
insight on what you did there.
You raised the bar with these works.

Re: Screen Mesh

I have Hix retensionable frames (rectangle tube) but I was
guessing they might not work on a vertical surface as they
would be too heavy.
I would think in terms of double back tape for holding a screen
in place.

What are some of your screen mesh preferences some of you might be using in monofilament? I'm guessing some of you might even use different meshes depending on the work. How many CFS are you looking for? Will you be doing just glass?

thing dialed in. I have a 185 cfs diesel. I do sandblast signfoam
wood, rock etching mostly.

What you are referring to Dave is 'System Restore'. Yes you can set your computer back. You have to first see if there is a restore point for possibly 24 hours ago.
