Re: FYI, Computer Art Node Reduction...

My hand aches just looking at this post! From my experience using Coreldraw over the past 15 years, you do indeed end up with a ton of nodes on the offset contour lines. I have spent many days just focused on reducing the node count on lot of Coreldraw layouts. When you are in node mode, there is a ...

What do you mean?, no longer in business...why just the other day I went to the Esoteric Sign Supply site. http://www.esotericsignsupply.com/contact.html Yep, the contact page is still up. Most of the links are dead. The "Home" heading at the top redirects you to the new "Rich Engravi...

Re: Type and fashion

Pat, Good to know you are feeling better. Went looking for some more information on the Hamilton Wood Type Museum and came across their website. I was under the impression that they did not have a website as of yet. Looks like it has been around for a while. Check it out, it quite nice and shows how...

Re: The Hensley Co.

A few months back I noticed this reverse glass saloon sign in my collection. Thanks to my advanced age and a failing memory...I do not remember where or when I got this. The frame was coming apart, and there were no framing points holding the cardboard backing to the frame. Well I re-glued the frame...

A small sampling of photos of the displays and equipment used to produce wood type.

These photos don't do justice in showing off the place.

Here is the entrance to the Hamilton Type Museum. And if you don't turn left, you drive into the building down at the far end.

Re: Type and fashion

When I went to tour the Hamilton Type Museum in Two Rivers, Wisconsin (which is about 50 miles north of Milwaukee, Wisconsin), I got lucky finding it. Seems that on that particular day there was some Art Fair a goin' on in downtown Two Rivers, and the Main Street running through town (and the fair) ...

Ingrid, the picture is rather deceiving. It looks like the flat stone monument is larger than the boulder in the background. When in fact it is just the opposite. The boulder is larger that the flat stone monument. I will try to post another photo in another month or two. But for now you will have t...

Re: First real paying glass gold job

Hi Aaron, Nice Work! You might want to try using clear slow size next time or a mixture of clear slow size and clear fast size for your matte centers. The Tattoo letters look big enough for you to have used a triple line mask for applying the black outline and the matte varnish without having to rel...

It might be...I don't remember what his building looks like.

Here's another hint...The building is from a movie that a few of the users of this site are familiar with.

Now use your "Good Eye" and see if you can figure it out.

Yes, the photo is bad for enlarging...I planned it that way.

Brass Tablets....Nooooo.

These are not Brass or Bronze...They're Glass!

And No...not Kansas City or Dillinger.

Here's another hint...try looking at it with your "good eye".

Re: Me Likes a Good Mystery...Hows About You?

Yes, its a bank building. And "no" you're not nutz. And I do not think Rick had anything to do with it. The Bank was organized in 1919, and it's building erected in 1924. Signs were ordered. And once received...placed on either sides of the main entrance doors. Where they remain to this da...

Nice Find! Do you get to keep them? I suspect not...but had to ask.

Oh yeah, that Reliance is really nice.

A great example of crushed tin foil backing...if that's what it is.

Can you imagine what these would go for on the open market?!

OK, so a while back I see this photo of a building.

I see something in the photo.

No Way!

Way!

This Building, and the firm in it are still in business.

Can anyone see what I see in the photo?
