MASK NOT STICKING TO THE GLASS?
A customer has given me a few nice pieces of glass to use, with polished edges & everything. They are about 10" square. I am making masks to use to frost them, then try chipping again. The problem is, my mask will not stick at all. I have used 409, then denatured alchohol, then cake Bon Ami...

LEAFING FIRETRUCK LETTERS
How do you price lettering the leaf on a fire truck? This truck has only lettering on the doors, no symbols. The rest will be reflective striping. Also, I have looked closely at their tanker truck & noticed that the genuine leaf letters are outlined in a very dark blue (is it that prussian blue ...

Backing Up With Shellac
I went & bought me some Bullseye Clear Transparent Shellac today, for my glass work. After I got home with it, I returned to Rick's page on Shellac, to see that the spray can of it would have been fine to buy, since I assume he meant to spray the whole piece, right? So here is my question, ok? I...

I am using One Shot with hardener in it for the outlines on my glass....even tho I put a barrier layer of shellac on ,my work, if I am using One Shot as an outline, will this tarnish it anyway because it has contact with the edges of my leafs? Sh...

REVERSE PAINTED GLASS PHOTO
Here is my first attempt at reverse painting. The paint part seemed to come out ok, but I know now after this post that the silver will go, & of course the whole panel! Silver leafed with varigated leaf & abalone "double backed up" with back up black. It will be sad to see it go, I...

How to Stop Silver Leaf from Tarnishing?
I made some glass pieces for Christmas gifts, one for my husband & one for my friend. My husband's is tarnishing, the silver part where it is glue chipped & silver leafed. I see yellowing & other "nice" things happening to it. When I look closely at the piece, I can see many im...

Where can I buy Fibroseal? And will any kind of Shellac do? What is a popular brand of Shellac to use? Sorry, I have to ask, tho.

REVERSE GLASS PAINTING
I have attempted my first try at reverse painting on glass. So far. so good, but I am wondering if you guys have a certain way you do it as a rule, blending the colors. For instance on a ribbon, would you lay the highlights & shadows down first, then the medium color to blend all, leaving the hi...

glass piece
Wow, I am very thankful for the help! I will post the Jesus piece, since the picture came out clearer, of the 2 pieces I have done. The letters are 23 1/2 K gold, the border is copper leaf, verigated leaf, & also abalone. The chipping was silver leafed. I have so much to learn, this was one of 2...

Pricing Gilded/Chipped Work
This is my first post in this forum & I am a bit nervous about it, but here goes... I have just begun to gild & glue chip, with pretty good results. I am really excited, & I already have a few people asking me about it, but I have no idea how to charge for it! Do I set a price per square...
