Re: Alaskan Gold Rush

It looks like a fun job! You've got some nice things to work with there. Can't wait to see 'em done.
I like the larger letterstyle used on the first one, someone should turn that into a font. Hmmm... I just might do that.

Just to say I have a 64 bit dual core running XP pro. Also, Dell seems to be a solid computer from what I've heard from owners.

Beautiful as allways. Very nice letters, and a fine example of using mostly letters only to create a beautiful layout.

Looks good Danny!

I like those jobs where there are multiples of the same. Get the assembly line a goin' and the pay is better than just doing one. I buy "challenge" butter, good stuff.

Dave, It would'nt stop me from gildin' if I never sold a single piece, but it sure would be nice! Larry, I think we might be doin' some gilding together here real soon, Lookin forward to it. Thanks for always posting up examples. I think the wood will look great. You know, it hurts havin' to have al...

Another "sales" piece

I'm getting quite a few of these out there now. I've allways noticed the nice work that has been done at all the meets that I've not been to and have been drawing on some of them for ideas, hope you all don't mind. This is that piece of glass that had the "bug", got rid of it. I have'nt re...

Liquid Mask

Can I use a liquid mask over backed up gilded areas where I want to do blending? The area in particular I want to blend is within a fine gilded line. I recall seeing this in a pic being done. I would like to mask the area somehow safetly without pulling up the gilded outline when I go to remove the ...

Thanks Mike, I figured painting on it would make it dissapear when viewed from the front. I'm thinking that if it where water gilded gold it would appear as a flat finish when viewed from the front. The bug is in just far enough to where it would be in an area where water gilt would be and would app...

Thanks Danny, I think I'll be going down to get a couple of pieces for this project. Save this one for something or other, don't know if I really want to use tempered glass on anything. Not a big loss at 5 bucks. Thanks for the schooling! I'm guessing that tempered glass would not be usable for chip...

Glass issue

I stop by a local glass shop periodically and check out thier discounted glass. These are pieces of glass that have been cut to the wrong size, or that were ordered but never picked up. The pieces can be purchased at quite a discount. Yesterday I picked up a piece 15" x 32" for $5.00, perf...

I once witnessed quite a discussion amongst the pros on whether to be leaving a computer on all the time or shutting it off at nights. The outcome was 50/50, with slightly more in favor of shutting down. This discussion was amongst certified computer techs who did this for a living. I now turn my 'p...

Kelly, I did a test piece on the letter shading and decided against it. My thought was to make it a bit more simple looking to try and attract more sales. When some people see something too decorated up it could scare away a potential sale. I thought not totally simple, but not too much. I wanted to...
