Thanks for the replies. The job went well, cleaned the glass 4 times w/ bon ami. This was an especially important job for me, as is was thru H.M. Witt Signs out of Chicago. Any Sign Co. that's been arounds for 111 years...well, i felt very duty-bound to do it Right! I'm glad it's in "past tense...

while perusing posts, patiently...I realized i hadn't thanked you all who replied and posted pics of your gold sample cases. Thank you! The cloth cases are Very Cool, and if I go wood, trading with a cabinet maker will get me something to be proud of! vs. my woodbutcher efforts! :lol:

Every leaf i use from now on....will recall that short clip. The Vermont signman's friend with the Goldbeater Granny, GOLD! He should ensure that her tools are preserved...pretty rare these days.
