Re: Pock marks in matte centers

Thanks Pat

That helps me understand a little more some of the issues and causes. I just couldn't figure why only the center of the matte and not to the edges.

Re: Pock marks in matte centers

I have very little experience with leaf so I am just curious and trying to learn. Looking at this from basically a non leafer. If this is a reaction to 2 different brands being mixed, would it not have the same effect all the way to the edges, not just the center of the matte giving you bubbles to t...

Re: LHSS backing black. What that?

I believe that would be "Letterhead Sigh Supply". They have a back up paint. I have very little experience with it so can't really comment much about it.

Re: Glue chipping question

Well I finally made a chipping cabinet. Took some info here and made one. Only a small one for now. I can put just shy of 3'x4' piece in there and could stack a couple if needed. I haven't chipped anything yet. Not until this next week will I have time to try but I did get the humidity from 72 down ...

Re: Glue chipping question

Thanks for the info guys. I will try and make a cabinet in the next few weeks. Mike you mentioned some plans here somewhere. I also did a search and came up short.

If anyone has some plans they would care to share that would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks again.

Glue chipping question

I haven't done much in the way of glue chipping and here in Florida its pretty humid so it seems to take a while for a good chip. The last project I did I put the glue on a little thick and it took a long time to chip. 2 weeks. I put it in the sun during the day and it would chip but it never wanted...

Re: illustrator question

Danny glad you found something that works for you.

I only select the entire object if I am cutting small or intricate designs and text with my vinyl cutter. I don't have tangential cutting so this has been a nice workaround for me. Keeps the corners from pulling up with the drag knife.

Re: illustrator question

I don't have AI loaded anymore and mainly use Corel but this is what I do. Insert your text, convert to curves. Then you can pick the whole image or just nodes (anchor points) you need to change such as serifs, click on the fillet flyout and pick the radius you need. There should be something in AI ...

Re: glass etching

I mainly etch glass and stone so I can finely contribute something. For single stage, frosting and light carving I use paint mask. I have one cabinet with 220 grit and 1 with 180 just for glass. I have used 150 but you have to watch it a little closer. I blast from about 4psi to as much as 50psi wit...
