They put "Lead" in everything!?

Do they make "Leaded" One Shot Lettering Enamel?

If not, they should, cause I'd buy some.

Hey Mr Kent Smith, can I add corroded lead to the One Shot Lettering Enamels? Thus thereby making it like the Leaded One Shot Paint of Past Lore?

I purchased some Liquid Damar Varnish and a pound of Damar Crystals from the local art supply store. I poured the Liquid Damar Varnish into a larger container, and added some Damar Crystals. It took a few weeks for the Damar Varnish to Dissolve the Damar Crystals and become thick enough to use for e...

How thick is the glass?

I'm assuming that you fired the piece in the kiln for the silver stain, is that right?

Having done some silvering via both the pour method and the spray bottle method, I prefer the spray bottle method. I also do not use the 3 part Peacock silver solutions. I now use Mirror Tech 2 part silvering solutions. When doing the pouring method, I too got bad results on larger pieces, with disc...

Rick Glawson sold reprints of his R&E catalog. They were done on a black and white copy machine, so the quality of the copies were not the greatest, still it was better than nothing. I promised myself that if I ever came across an Original R&E Catalog that I would make some quality reprints....

Yes, you sometimes need special tools for handling the gold leaf. But it can also be handled without the special tools. I guess it all depends on your skill level. As a beginner I would suggest that you get a good book on gilding and its application. There are a few out there. Try your local library...

You did not state how thick you put the glue on, I have noticed that the thicker the glue coat, the more likely you are going to get a snail chip. What was the thickness of your glue? 1/8th...3/16ths...1/4th? I used one of those grooved rollers, the kind that rick used to sell, and it made the glue ...

You could get an alps MD-5000 printer and use the gold or silver foils for printing out your gold lettering and/or ornamentation on your drawings.

The foils are shiney like real gold and silver leaf, and look very impressive on the drawing.

You can get the alps MD-5000 printer on ebay.

Post This Two!

Well finally a post gets through! And wouldn't you know it, its the one where I sound upset. Thats right, the nice long informative ones end up in cyber space, and the short angry ones end up on the site.

This site must have a mind of its own.

the thickness in inches vary, .006, .015, .030.
