Re: UK brilliant cutting equipment
Hello Francis, I know the briljant cutting wheels and frames are scarce. Lucky enough I was able to buy one setup from an old English man who never used it anymore and it was collecting dust in his brothers garage. Made the trip by boat to England drove for 12 hours and took it home with me. After r...

Re: Signs From Sydney Australia
I do not like to use it because it does not give a white enough etch to the glass. It is allmost transparant, and that is due to the fact that only i very thin layer is etched (in only 90 seconds). It is good hobby stuff, but does not do the trick if you want to etch in different tones Anthony. The ...

This back and forth sliding with a design is how we can learn the best to see what works or not.

Re: Signs From Sydney Australia
I used armour etching paste and came to the conclusion that i can make my own paste (will never use it by the way). But in this process i realized that it is definatly not as harmless as the company projects. It still has HF-acid as a base, but it is more controlable when handling it. I liked the st...

Re: Skirting for ACID
Lee, Good question I hoped someone would ask that. What I have withnessed is that the 'smoke' of the acid goes up in the air. But I also think it goes down, just to be on the safe side. Inga, The acid vapours are definatly smellable (I do not know if this is correct english). With every smell, if yo...

Re: Skirting for ACID
If it is so important to you, cut some hair (cathair could be used, just kidding) put it on iron ashtray or something and burn it.
If you smell it inside you know how or what, you do not need the book for this.

Inga,
You should have asked me, you know my emailadres.
For one I would place the fan on the other side of the acid table, so that you can blow the fumes out through the overhead door.

Jay, Some ideas: 1. Be sure your current website (ShawCraft Sign Co) is up to date with pictures about your projects, so they know you made them. 2. Try to make a new website with only one enjoyable informative page about the project you are doing now, how it was handeld financed and done. Make it s...

Jay,
I would plan a marketing campain (newspaper magazines and internet news pages) 6 months prior the ending your project so people will know your name and start ordering new projects before the last painting is done.

Re: What can be replaced asphalt varnish ?
This was a very funny site. I expected powder this block is something we in Nederland just do not have. I would put as much asphalt in your pot as possible (make shure you can close the lid so that the terpentine does not evaporate). Look at it one week later. Try to hamer down the block into pieces...

Re: What can be replaced asphalt varnish ?
Hello Andrey, Asphalt varnish can be made by your self by mixing asphalt powder (асфальт порошком) with terpentine (скипидар). Let is dissolve for two weeks and it is ready for use. You could also ask an litho-press supplier (литография) for the extra thick black-tar-like resist and put some extra t...
