Re: Yet another newbie

Vladimir,

Very nice... I really like how the boarder flows into the thin frame giving it more weight. Looks like this could be a companion piece to the drawings you posted earlier.

Art is a common Language and I enjoy seeing your work... thanks for sharing.

Are you saying you clicked to buy... then told seller about some guy instead of paying with a big grin on your face and how is 5 times the cost you had it for?

Kafka has a set of liner/scrollers that work well. Still have some old Mack daggers for pulling lines as well.

Kafka has some YouTube flicks up if you care to have a look.

Re: Gold Leaf Starter Kit

For glass work you want loose leaf gold. If I was to purchase a kit it be this one http://www.stonehouses.co.uk/product_desc.php?id=4389

PM me your address I'll send you some fresh 00 gelatine caps for making up water size.

Re: Gold Leaf Starter Kit

Kent's Book is a good the place to start from.

A stainless steel camping cup makes a good container for making water size in. Also you'll need a gilders tip to apply leaf to glass. If you can find some Bon Ami powder in the yellow or red can not the gold foil one, grab it. Some quality cotton.

As to adding hardener I really only used it when washing the lettering would be done... vehicles... boats or windows. Normal signs, paint as it came out of the can. Cold temps and lack of dexterity with a brush after a short time was something I try avoided at all cost. A hot/fast thinner would be m...

Your question is hard for anyone to really answer to many factors to weigh. I'd say, sell your Quality not cost... that would be my advice. Find out what they have in mind for a budget and see if you can offer something that fits it.
