Re: Original Dead Men
I noticed the rail gang is just over that hill...and pretty soon, they're gonna be here. One Mr. Stubby Preston gave me a call, said his glue chippin' was bein' a bit stubborn, that the glue started to chip, and then it stopped. Asked if he could bring 'em by. I said, sure, sid down. He looked at me...

That's funny....I never recall saying I was doing fine....hmm. So far all I've heard out of you is talk! I can get all the talk I need and more from those Dead Man friends of mine. Don't count me in on that QR code thing... When do we start? Oh wise one. Improvement makes straight roads, but crooked...

Kickin' the Old School!...
I tried to go new school on this, but for etching this world map on glass, all the available vector files out there had a single line between the countries. I need a double line, so I can have that line remain clear after sandblasting. Editting the file didn't seem like the right thing to do. I also...

Gettin' with the times....
Jenco says I gotta break out of my old school ways and get with the times. Keeps tellin' me, "Times change Mr. Blake, most folks change with 'em." Well, a few holdouts never do. He says, I ain't even posted my latest piece on Facebook, and that I don't even have a Wall Jewelry page. Says I...

Re: glue chipping...........
There was some glue circulating that was light yellow in color,
rather than the amber color we're used too.
This yellow glue did not dry as transparent as the amber glue,
and, for me, it didn't chip very well.
Perhaps that's what you have.

Re: glue chipping...........
Hey Vance, where did you get your glue from?
Sometimes if the glue stops chipping, the top surface of it can be rehydrated via a spounge and some water, upon drying, it may start chipping again...at least this was some advice from Pat, and it worked for me.

Re: Original Dead Men
Thanks Bob.
This was replicated from an old antique toy catalog cover from 1896.
The frame measures 34" x 43".
The border you refer to is 18K water gild over mica etch with clear whirls.

Two cents, from the end of the line..... Firstly, nice design! I like that symetrical layout. Looking good! Me. I woulda silvered it first. I would be fairly paranoid in submercing the gilded area under all that water. Having said that, Rick Glawson told me when silvering over any previously done in...

Re: Original Dead Men
Twill, I've always thought that men like us do sandblast work because we can. Because we're better at it than most. Well, it beats punching cows or digging copper. Or soldiering. You can do it on glass, or wood, or metal, get paid regularly...and you sort of know when to do it and how. Like on wood ...
