Re: glue chipping...........
Hi Doug ! Hope your doing good. I wouldn't agree with adding as much water as you want. The ratio and the thickness of the glue after pouring are directly related. If the ratio has to little water the glue poured will end up being to thick. If it's to thin it will be runny and end up to thin. Think ...

Re: glue chipping...........
I think your glue was to strong. I like a 1 to 2 ratio for my glue at 1 1/2 to 1 3/4oz dry glue per sqft. I don't think the spike wheel will do anything. I normally do cuts line all over the piece to help break the surface tension of the glue. Here is my proceedure. Soak my glue for about an hour in...

Re: glue chipping...........
Vance, Looks like if you took an exacto knife and smacked the glue slightly it might still chip. I'd like to know what your mixture is ? You may be putting it on to thick. Remember the old butter cut rubber sand blast mast ? The glue should end up being about that thick when soft and rubbery. Glue m...

I would never had sold no Rawson & Evans to no underhanded man such as yourself had I known he would sell it on the open market to some common horse thief. A court of law will decide in my favor and return my fathers glass piece to me. You will be left with nothing but your ill health and no gol...

Bob, Thanks again for passing the job on to us.The Helios project was an amazing internet wonder. For those that don't know the whole story. Helios meg yacht
Some of you might remember awhile back that John Studden and I went down to Mexico to do a gilding job on a mega yacht called Helios. I received some photos of the finished project and thought you might enjoy seeing them. PS you can charter it for 65,000.00 low season and 75,000.00 high season weekly.

Re: The Art of Gold Leaf Glass Signs
Eric, Read the article again. It talks about Rick Glawson and the Conclave. How we as a group kept "The Conclave" going in his honor. That part of the story is about our small group, our history, not the rest of the gilding world. You don't see any of the other great gilders in our group t...
