Re: Original Dead Men
I won't be stoppin' at boarding houses where there's warm beds and hot grub on the table. I'll be traveling light and eatin' fast. What little sleeping is done will take place on the ground. This head board reminds me very little of the time I was forced to share a bed with Grandma Turner.
Excellent work...as usual. I always enjoy the way you incorporate things into your glass work. It inspires me to re-adjust my thinking !!

Re: Original Dead Men
I built an eating place, called "The Green Frog", started callin' myself Blake.
The Green Frog had one billiard table, served ladies and men, both.
Mostly men. Tried runnin' it myself for awhile, but, couldn't keep good help.
I never did learn how to buy meat.
I'd give three dollars right now for a pickled buffalo tongue....
Re: Original Dead Men
I was hoping you would have a position open for a matradee....times being what they are. I have references. I used to slop tables at The Original Greaser Bob's Dugout.

That may make you a big noise in that state; in California you
should mind that your Arizona trappings and title do not make
you an object of fun.
If you wet your comb, you might tame that cowlick.

Re: Original Dead Men
I saw a document. It was all in order, seals, signatures, everything! One thing though, in very small print, there is a short clause...

Re: Original Dead Men
Couple years back, we did up this little commemorative piece.
Found this better frame for it over at Mantiques, in Niles, CA.
I think this new frames makes this piece a lot better!
Artwork for it was by Ken Davis....aka Stubby Preston....
You can keep on as you are....
(You can see the previous frame on page 21 of this thread.)
Re: Original Dead Men
Well now Mr. Blake,
That sure adds a spit shine to it... I'll tell you what.
I thought Rick Glawson was partial to a frame that had a very similar look.

Sure I paint thing for my amusement and then offer them for sale. A brushslinger could whither en die from lack of creativity in this plastic town my horse threw a shoe in.

I see it all clear as crystal.
Just think of it, pretty soon you'll be written up in all the history books.

Re: Original Dead Men
Did up this little ditty of one of our Dead Men mottoes...
Got the frame with the 100+ year old glass in it at an estate sale for $50. Did a slightly smaller version which now hangs in the Esoteric Gold Company studios. Up next is a companion piece to this one, which will say, "If that's the card you're dealt...That's the cards you play." !
