Hardener question again

Post by Guest »

Can one put a coat of enamel w/hardener over a
coat of enamel without hardener? I have here an HDU
sign with incised letters that are to be gilded. I've
primed and applied one coat of 1-shot in the letters, then
I had the thought that a coat with the hardener would
be harder and glossier and maybe yield a brighter gild?
If it is possible, should I scuff the first coat of enamel
before applying the second?
thanks
