Mass Mayhem 6, your basic Letterhead / Pinhead meet

Post by Ken McTague »

Gary Cole has agreed to donate his shop for the latest incarnation of our annual Letterhead meet....Mass Mayhem 6 will be a back to basics panel jam and paint trick party. May 19-21 2005 in Tewksbury, MA.
Gary and I have agreed that this meet should strip off the frills and focus on traditional sign painting techniques and old school pinstriping.

From the begin of the Letterhead movement it was about sharing, and trading tricks and techniques with others in the trade to help them make better quality and more beautiful signs.
over the years the movement has become something that embraces the traditional techniques even though the trade has evolved, and continues to have the spirit of sharing. In the recent years at this meet and others the focus has been overshadowed by one thing or another,
so here is list of a few things we will NOT have at MM6:
3 live bands a night, 4 star catering, scavenger hunt, Johnny Depp appearance and autograph session, trapezes and high wire show, phychic card readings, rocket launch, magic show by Penn & Teller, stock analysis by Dunn & Bradstreet.

We ARE however looking talented people to do sign making demos or workshops. 1 thing we are planning on is a Panel Jam, and we are going to stick to our tradition that everyone leaves with a panel, either one they made themselves or one that they watched being made and will help inspire them.
Some demos we are already working on are:
Gold Leaf surface gilding, glass gilding, and gilding carved and dimensional letters, faux finishes, smalts and more...
