Charlie Chaplin / Rawson & Evans

Post by Danny Baronian »

Watching tv late one night on either the History channel or Turner Classics was a Charlie Chaplin movie set in New York. I don't recall the name of the movie and spent more time watching the background.

Obviously it was a silent movie, the time period in the area of 1915 - 1925, and the stores in the city were plastered with glass signs, many looked to be like those produced by Rawson & Evans. Walls, store fronts, doors, corner columns. Anyone else seen anything similar?

Next time I hear of a Chaplin movie coming up I'll be watching the background for more signs. Very interesting.

Danny
