A Christmas Story signs

Corey had "A Christmas Story" on TV tonight and I watched a bit of it near the end during the parade. There were quite a few period signs in it. I think this was filmed in Cleveland, OH? I looked up the movie dates and it was released in 1983. Gerber Scientific's web site says the old Signmaker III was released in November of 1982, but I don't think you see any of it being used in the movie.

Also, I watched a little of the old show "The Big Valley" the other day. Pretty interesting...
Back then, the TV film makers never worried about shadows and light direction. Sometimes you'd see a guy walking down the street in broad daylight and he'd have three or four shadows. They also get under canopies and still cast a shadow on the wall behind them, even if the sun was beating straight down.
