Wild Mustangs

Post by Mike Jackson »

For anyone interested, I am in the process of building a new photo web site, dedicated to the wild mustangs we have here in Wyoming.

http://www.spottedhorseimages.com/

There are a few images in the sampler on the home page right now and I will be adding more slide shows as I have time. Just thought some people might enjoy seeing them.

Hi Mike,

The site and photos look great! I think you have found a new career path.

:?: :?: :?:

An after thought - Can we "assume" you're not doing much sign work now days? Or have you just seriously cut back on the hours you sleep???

Hi Ron,
Thanks for the note.
I have been working on the site again this morning.
The slide show now has a new Pause/Restart button.

Things seem a bit slower because I am having to learn Dreamweaver at the same time.
Adobe originally made GoLive to compete with Dreamweaver but is now discontinuing it once they purchased Dreamweaver from Macromedia. TheLetterheads.com was created with GoLive, so I will eventually have to migrate it over to a Dreamweaver site, too. SpottedHorseImages.com is really a test site, built from scratch, but not a large site.

I wanted to build a little site to learn how to use the program. This is much like what we talk about here--doing smaller test projects and eventually building up the skills to tackle something larger.

Very nice work, Mike!

In '78/'79 I sold my photography at art shows........then switched to selling my carving.
Aside from those excellent shots, I know how much work it is to get yourself into position to get them.
Congrats! :)
Thanks for sharing.

Hi again,
The new site is coming along nicely. I just added a lot of new images and tweaked a few places.

Most of the photos are on line now but I still need to add a lot to the names, titles, and descriptions, plus a few of the main pages.

Overall, it is set up and functioning.

I'm also getting the hang of the basic tools in Dreamweaver, so some pages are going quicker now.

Cheers,

Well, why does it not surprise me that Jackson would produce such a great site with these tremendous photos? Congratulations, Mike. You continue to do what you do best. Keep'em coming.

By the way....it's 68 here today and sunny.

They are spectacular creatures aren't they? I can see why my grandfather liked them much better than the home bred horses.

Looks like you are getting the hang of Dreamweaver too, which so far is escaping me.

Hi again,
A site like that is never really done, but I am through with it for a while.

Once I got into it, making the change to Dreamweaver wasn't quite so bad.

In the long run, taking this time to practice on a new site will pay off.

Best regards,
