Hi Mike
John Studden and I are at it again. The International Society of Glass Gilders is hosting a workshop October 24,25 26. Three days of learning how to Gild and embelish glass. The cost of the workshop is $695. This includes three pieces of glass using a variety of tecniques. Perfect for sales samples and a reminder of all the possibilities. Our goal over the weekend is to focus on process, so all artwork is already prepared. We cover a vast amount of information in three days and have fun doing it.
So put your fishing rod down and come on over. It would be good to see you.

Hey Noel & John,
Why do you guys even host these workshops?
My understanding of late has been that all one needs to do is purchase a Smith-Tip from the Brit and it will pretty much do the rest for you!
:)
Seriously, though, I truly cherish the workshop I took from Noel several years ago. Thanks for sharing your knowledge. And I remember the first time I went to Rick's place, John kind of took me under his wing and began to take the mystery out of the process as he matter-of-factly explained & showed me what to do. I couldn't think of two better teachers.

Thanks for the kind words Dan, I don't think you need to learn any more, you are there already........great craftsmanship.

Just a reminder for anyone wishing to learn more about Gold Leaf processes, the Workshop is coming up soon in Boise at Noel's incredible shop, that alone is worth a visit....We always have a great time, we take the Craft seriously, but always have a lot of light hearted moments.
Three intense days of learning techniques, plus looking around Boise will recharge tour brain & send you home with a lot of knowledge & some great projects to display............
Still some places left. John

A glass enthusiast could spend years wading through trial and error....or compress and enhance their knowledge during a weekend
spent in the company of two masters, with the fine Boise signscape thrown in for good measure. Excellent workshop and good company!

I visited with Noel at his shop this afternoon and he shared the artwork for this upcoming workshop. If you don't attend, you will be missing out.

Leo...in about a week, I will know if I have bed(s) available for house guests. If I do, I'll post the availability here on the forum so you, or someone else, can take advantage of the free housing. I'll post the info as soon as I know for sure.

That would be so great, what can I say. The help, advise and just sense of community here is unbelievable. Please do let me know, it would be greatly appreciated. Heck, I will sleep on the floor.

I have been looking forward so much to Noel's workshop.

Hi Noel and John....and the rest down at Classic. Just yesterday I cleaned up and moved the glass piece I did at your workshop about 15years ago! Reminded me of all those good things I saw down there and that it's still around is something of a miracle. What I'm not sure I understand is how you manage to keep at that price. It was almost the same 15 or so years back. All the same have a blast and wish I could join you again!!
