Antique Size Pot

Post by Sarah King » Wed Dec 17, 2008 3:58 pm

Robert Frese of http://www.chicagoldsigns.com/ asked me if I could make a reproduction of a very handy little antique size pot he has been using for years. Since I had taken metal working classes from my neighbor, Veronica Fremont - jewler and sculpter, I thought I would give it a try. We now have them available on our website at http://angelgilding.com/AGSilver_Leaf_Mirrors.html. It's 1/2" wider than the original, waterproof and holds a half-pint of size. You can't use it to heat the size or the solder will melt and you can't use it to carry the size in your kit or the water will slosh out of the top but you can use it on site. Robert hooks it on his little finger so he can hold the size, size brush, gold and gilder's tip in one hand and gild with the other.
