Crackel finish and backed up water gilding

Post by Roderick Treece »

I wanted to post this note separatly from my Colt 45 project.
I am working on the crackel background right now and while waiting for it to dry the crackel top coat seems to be crackeling off some of the backing for the water gilding. It's not really bothering the gold much at this point. While at first this may seem like a problem I don't think it will be. The piece is supposed to have a bit of an antique feel to it. One of my favorite things as most of my friends know is that I like to mess things up to make them look antique.
As soon as it dries I will post a photo.
