Post by erik winkler »

Hello is there anyone who sells a second hand silvering gun and maybe a sentisizing gun?
Or give me some tips of making my own with two stainless steel guns?

Erik, I bought the high volume hand pump sprayers from the local Hardware stores. I have been using the Angel Gild spray silver solution with these guns with great results.

I mix up the chemicals and pour into the sprayers:
1 with silver solution and activator in one bottle
2 with reducer in another bottle.
3 tin in another bottle.

Tin glass with tin in spray bottle and rinse. When its time to silver I hold one bottle with silver in one hand and one bottle of reducer in the other hand. Spray the glass by pulling the trigger on both bottles at once mixing them in air before they hit the glass. You get a nice even silver this way.

Its a cheap approach when using spray silver. Hope this helps

Hello Aaron,
What are the specifics of these hand pumps?
Do you press the tricker with every spray or is there pump and then just spray a minute in a roll?
I have them also, never tried them though..
Was looking for a quicker way to silver larger panels

Erik,

These are the ones I have.

They are the 'Zep' brand professional sprayer. I was able to silver the glass piece 28"x36" behind the sprayer in about 2 minutes of spraying.
