Verre Eglomisé Amsterdam

Post by erik winkler »

I just finished another test project.
This time I made a few verre eglomisé pieces.
11 Panels.

The trees are mica etched, then gilded in 23,75 crt and scratched in the wanted shapes.
Then I gilded the houses and rest of the trees in 18 crt and backed this up.
Then I painted the rainbow in colored transparant two component epoxy inks (bad choice, looks smutchy!)
And then silvered the complete panels.

There are some panels done with 18crt and some with 12 crt, the 12 crt is not a good choice with the silvering: to little contrast.

Nice work Erik. Those are good art pieces. That style would look good in the lobby of an upscale Amsterdam hotel or a software giant's conference room.
Good markets to shoot for, maybe in limited production autographed runs. Clever use of the posterized black tree details to accent the gilded mica tree forms.
A weekend well spent.
