Glass for GLue Chipping

Post by Robert Schwieger »

Robert Mitchell, in his 1984 book on glue chipped glass signs, speculated that there is a glass that does not require blasting prior to chipping. Just curios, is this a reality? Does anyone know of this possibility? Bob

Sometimes the writings in books leave out small details that would only affect those that wish to duplicate a mentioned process. He may have been talking about "ground" glass, as in glass that would be used in instruments or for privacy and would have been mechanically ground to a fine frost with a slurry of wet abrasive powder.
