Commonwealth Varnish Co- Free varnish
Hello all,
I'm the person who bought the rights/formulas from Rick Glawsons heirs.
I bought the company because it was a hundred years old and from a marketing point of view, it's priceless. While Commonwealth Varnish Co is still registered and operational, I've been more focused on creating new formulas for other applications.
While I never met Rick, I've met his family and some of his friends. It became quite clear that Rick was a very nice person, always willing to lend a hand. I promised myself that when I had the opportunity, I would do something nice on his behalf.
So here it is:
I will post here the types of varnish I have left at the warehouse. If you pay the shipping cost (i'm located in FL), I will send you a free pint of the varnish. This the real stuff, including the orginal Commonwealth Varnish CO label... To be fair to everyone, only one pint per person...No cheating
Cheers
Frank

I'm in the Uk so I don't think you would be allowed to ship it to me.
I am glad that you bought the company in order to save it. It's a cool name to boot.
I also applaud Robert for his values and desires.

Well I live in the Netherlands Anthony and I know that it is possible to ship these kind of products to Europe.
I ordered some solvent stuff from the States and Canada a few times.
Please send me all three and I will gladly pay you whatever shipping costs you have to make.
Thanks,
Erik

Robare,
what is the new and improved internet version of window spar?
As for the first post in this thread, the rights and formulas for Common Wealth were purchased, and held by Frank. He is offering exactly what Rick supplied.

Re: Commonwealth Varnish Co- Free varnish
I had the grandson over, hes four and he wanted a "sleepover"
He had a bit of a night cough so I got the short straw and in my trying to get back to sleep about 3am I started counting the sheeps when I had a thought right out of the Blue.
So, what did happen to Frank and the Commonwealth Varnish Company?
Anyone with any update please so I can use something else to get to sleep?

Re: Commonwealth Varnish Co- Free varnish
I spoke to Frank a little over a year ago this month, and was told he'd follow up here shortly. That was the last I heard from him.
As far as I know Frank purchased the rights to the name and formula for Commonwealth.
Somewhere between the lines, Rich Dolphens (spl?) purchased the remaining products of Commonwealth, I assume from Frank.

Re: Commonwealth Varnish Co- Free varnish
We've never known exactly what to do with threads like this one. There was another one regarding Lola's estate and the pending auction. The people register, make a post, then never show back up to clean up their loose ends or promises. Here we are a year later on this varnish thread, and no more information than we had originally.
Seems like we should have a six month response window on these kinds of posts? Otherwise, we can leave them and have them pop up off and on during the year as someone makes a new reply into a dead thread?
