Very interesting, indeed! Especially given the fact that the accompanying news story verifies that these are authentic, 105- year-old color photographs: very rare.

Also of interest it the giant beer ad in one of the black and white plates! It appears to have been intentionally painted in a naive, "amateur" style by a professional sign company. It is godawful, and seems completely out of time and place. It is really fascinating when these "period-incorrect" curiosities sometimes pop up in old photos.

Wow, these photos are even more extraordinary for another reason.

They are 3D photos. They are meant to be seen through one of the old viewers.

I don't have one of the viewers available and you probably don't either, but you can see it in 3D without a viewer.
Go to the page where they where published so you get both images side by side. Sit back from the screen a little and allow your eyes to relax and bring the two images together.

If you recall those "magic eye" 3D illustrations that were popular a few years ago, it's the same technique to see the effect.

It's a bit of a stretch because the images are a fair distance apart, but if you can do it, the effect is amazing.
