Old film of pictorial sign artist British Pathe

Post by DAVE SMITH »

A friend posted this on my Facebook wall. It depicts Truro ,a very beautiful town in Cornwall, check this clip of a pictorial artist at work painting either a pub sign or a welcome sign to the town. http://www.britishpathe.com/record.php?id=14663

Albert Perry...world's first punk rock politician, figures out that to get people to vote for you, you have to get them to drink with you first. Then he goes on to say that sign painters should be banished...I'll drink to that. And that gilders should have their heads chopped off...another chorus of "I'll drink to that", some more ramblings about social issues, blah, blah, blah,....cheers mates! Also, not sure if he will still be alive and sober by the time his younger supporters are old enough to drink and vote.
