United Cigar antique sign...

Post by Larry White »

Don Hutchinson contacted me wanting to sell this old sign.
He's asking $800 OBO. He's threatening to cut it in half!
Must be something can be done.....

Measures 13' - 1" long by 24" high....

If I had the money, I'd buy it for Machine.
If you want to buy it, and need a place to store it....I'd be the man for it.
Don can be reached at (917) 797-1870
It's back east somewhere.....

So what yer sayin' is I can get the sign at half price?

Or half a sign for full price?

A fool and his sign are soon parted...in half.

OK so he wants X or it gets axed... .

Maybe contact Antique Archaeology...American Picker. I've seen them pay big for old trashier sign.

Hate to see it whacked in half.
Sure I paint thing for my amusement and then offer them for sale. A brushslinger could whither en die from lack of creativity in this plastic town my horse threw a shoe in.

Seems odd he's considering trashing it if he can't get $800. The other alternative might be for him to get a tax deduction and donate it to the American Sign Museum.

Out of curiosity, I typed in United Cigar, and came up with the following photos from an auction in New York, 2005. Didn't list the selling price. Size was similar, as the one listed below is 96" x 24":
