Hi guy's,
It wasn't a lower case i. It's probably the antiquing or a reflection blocking the I. Depending on what the art work looks like ,for instance if it's a large new clear mirrored background I try and use a commercially made mirror to start. It not ever going to get any better than that. Then through a sandblasting and stripping process I've developed I create the lettering and windows for all the other layers to go.

Your right Vance, You totally busted me. My secret is watching youtube videos and opening big bags of chips while drinking mask quantities of cheap beer. You would be amazed at all the great bad info you can get on you tube.

I basiclly deep carve sandblast all the outlines and drop shadows first.
Then I take industrial paint stripper and strip out any areas that will have gold lettering and open windows.
Mask of the lettering for the mica stipple acid etch.
Do the acid work.
Take off the mask and clean everything.
Then I paint in the out lines and shadows
Water gild the lettering
Place the print in the window and it's done.

Hope that helps

Roderick - Great looking glass piece and the perfect atmosphere for it. It really shows well in his man cave/play room.

As always - great work :!: Mind giving a quick overview of how you will 'pack' this for shipping to Japan so it arrives in one piece? Just curious -

Very nice job Rod. Bet it's a real knock out to see in person.
Also noticed the tiny soft subliminal black silhouette emerging from atop the curtain. Hey.... is that Tinkerbell!?

Wow! Amazing!

How did you do the humming bird? I love these little fellows to bits!

Congratulations on the amazing craftsmanship!

Sincerely,

Hope everyone had a great Xmas. Finishing up on the last projects of the year. Here is my favorite one .

Ron,
Here is the link to my Shipping page. I have a company called "Craters and Freighter " that crates and ships everything for me. Ralph Lauren has their own company that picks up everything at my shop which I always find very scary .

Roderick,
I really admire your work. I guess exquisite is the best word I can think of. I am an amateur sign painter and a professional painter of every thing since I sort of retired.

My family is in San Diego and if I can see my way clear to get out there would you like a visit and I will pay for lunch. Right now I live in FL and it is a long trip to get to San Diego.

Happy New Year, Dale Johnson
