Sand Blasting/Etching

Post by Aaron Aziz »

I am wanting to invest a good chunk of money into some equipment for doing glass work and would like some input on what people are using for their sand blasting equipment... especially anything that would allow a really even etch over a large piece of glass. Any advice would be greatly appreciated and pictures are always amazing.
Thanks.

I would suggest buying a used tow behind compressor with at least a 5 sack pressure pot with a big nossle. It'd going to need an air dryier to.

What sort of thing are you after? you have several choices of medium sand, AI, Sc. If you are looking for fine art application you are looking at small nozzle sizes. Take a look at stuff like the PAB Gun, they are in the USA and are online here http://www.pabblaster.com/index.php

For a very even etch over a large glass panel your going to need to get away from the panel.Possibly in a booth. Use lower pressure but higher voloume of media with a larger tip.
