The printed image on the signs

Post by Vitaly Naumov »

Hello!
The question arose: what you print color images, which are then in place within the round window on the back side. And even paste? In glue sticks, or even in some way?

The pictorial is a painting on canvas. It is not printed on the glass.
The painting was cut to fit the open window in the glass.
Both the glass and the painting were coated with varnish.
With the glass face up, the painting was positioned into the window from the underside.
Starting from the center outward, any bubbles in the varnish were lightly forced out to the edge.
The piece remained in the face up position until the varnish dried, which was about a week.

Vitaly, what is your primary language?

The Ukrainian word for varnish is лак. Varnish is used as a clear adhesive to adhere the print directly to the glass.

Another method is to mount the illustration to matt board, or stiff, thin paper, and tape behind the opening.

The photo displays a digital print mounted behind the clear opening of the glass, held in place by tape.
