In the previous post, # 893,062 is for the 1908 "Developing Machine".

And patent # 893,063 is for the 1908 "Washing Machine for Glass".

FYI, when on the patent site...you must first download thier suggested viewer to be able to look at patents, its free and its easy.

Well, with the aid of Robare's patent numbers, I was able to create a page with direct links to the patented process at the US Patent Office.

With the new page, you just have to click!

Last night, I created links directly to the Patents, but this morning the pages tell me the time limit has expired on each search.

So, use the link below to take you directly to the page necessary for the Query. You just type in PN/494,999 or PN/495,000 etc. It will bring up the correct section. The next screen says something about needing to "View Image" since a full text verson is not available. Click that button. The new page will have a yellow bar across the top with something like "1 of 7"--so you know there are seven pages to this patent. In the text box on the left navigation bar, type in "1", or "2", etc to see the additional pages one at a time.

Too bad the other links wouldn't hold, but this is still easy.

Good luck,

Mike Jackson - One more search detail
On the Search page, under the Query box,you also need to click on the Search Dates menu and change it to "1790 to 1975 (PN and CCL only)". It defaults 1975 to present.

Robare! You're THE MAN!

Thanks for sharing that information with us. We can at least identify dates back to 1891, which is six years prior to the catalog I have here. You'd have to assume they were in business a while before that to even develop the processes.

I want to go check out their patents, and I will create a new page on the Rawson section listing the patents you supplied so anyone can check them out. Wow! That's a great resource for all of us.

Tod Swormstedt says there are Rawson & Evans ads in Signs of the Times into the 1920s and he even has a photo of one of their trucks from the 1920s. Other than one of the early magazines showing Rawson, he says he could never find a specific story on the company. They found one or two small clips that identified George Bayless as one of the main designers. I am anxious to get the packet next week.

Thanks again,
Mike Jackson

I was able to figure out how to view the patents at the patent office site. Cool!

Here's just one of the drawings showing the Zinc plates.

I will add these to the Rawson section someday soon.

This stuff is way to cool.
Can't wait to check that site out myself.
Pretty darn neat seeing the plans for their techniques of the times. Thanks a bunch, Robert.
