Doug I just picked up the mack 1962 flats from Mack they are squirrel and ox hair mixed. They hold acrylic very nice and have some snap. Mack also has a lettering quill with this same hair blend they are pretty sweet to 839 series. Call Mack they will help you with your brush needs. http://www.mackb...

Thanks for the info Joe, I did alot of researching and calling paint manufactures to get the make up of the clears and varnishes. I went with the marine high end clear awlgrip. Erik, I bought the high volume hand pump sprayers from the local Hardware stores. I have been using the Angel Gild spray silver solution with these guns with great results. I mix up the chemicals and pour into the sprayers: 1 with silver solution and activator in one bottle 2 with reducer in another...

Thanks guys, I did use Turps for the reducer for the asphaltum/size mixture, turps is more pure than mineral spirits right? I also use the right amount of tin as called for and rinsed very well before silvering.
Would Permalic have sulfur in it? I do have some of that as well.
