Re: Hand Lettering Mess

Aaron, I call myself a graduate of the school of 'No Parking Signs'. So the name of the game is mileage. No other way to get around it. You are going to have to stroke, stroke, stroke till that brush has a mind of it's own. One thing I might suggest is to hold the brush very loosely. A common mistak...

Re: Gatorboard Delamination

A while back Laminators Inc. had a problem with their Luster Board (alum/ply) material. They started to use a softwood core and I experienced a del-lamination of the aluminum and ply. They have since gone back to the harwood core. I'm guessing this solved the problem. I got off easy on my go round. ...

Re: Looking for good software advice.

The one thing that Jes is interested in is the ability to cut vinyl which I don't think will happen with Corel or Illustrator. I've used Signlab since the beginning of time. You don't have to buy say the Print/Cut version $$. They do have a pared down version that would be adequate. I'm sure Flexi h...

Here's another thought Bob. If you put down Gerber (enamel receptive)
220 series clear you can paint away.

Re: painting on auto glass

What Tyler is saying is correct. Something about these modern auto glass surfaces. They repel like Rain-X. If you were looking for a handpainted look on an oval you could consider Gerber 220 series (enamel receptive) clear. You can paint it and then do your hand paint letter work. I would dry apply ...

Re: Problem With Water Gilding

Mike is right about the 1-Shot not being your best backup choice. It was back in the day. My question is how you rubbed off the excess. Did you get everything really wet and then rub? My failures have been when I got the background too wet and then rubbed off with cake BonAmi. Really kinda dry pasty...

Glad to hear your mother is o.k. They lowered the death count to 24 just
heard on NPR. This was grand on the tornado scale. Heard outside Moore
the the highest winds in the world ever recorded of 300 mph happened
back in '99. Is that true?

Now that's what I'm talking about! That album cover looks even more
vivid than your original art. Vinyl is a happenin' thing again I hear. CD cases are
so whimpy. Very interesting to see this show up in vinyl.
You did real good on this project Dave.
