Re: Storing 1 Shot Paint

There are a lot of more experienced people here that may be able to give you better technical information about bottles, but here is my two cents worth based on trying lots of bottles. My father and I tried every type of bottle that we could get our hands on. In the end, we settled on two types for ...

Re: Transparent Glaze - How to question?

Personally, I used House of Kolor Kandy colors for that kind of thing. They are designed specifically to have vibrant color while showing whats below them. The Kandy concentrates mix into any urethane(but separate in 1shot). I use Frog Juice or HOK SG100 intercoat clear. So far I've never had an adh...

Re: Materials from the Memorial Conclave

For anyone interested in the powder atomizer, I found a new cheaper option designed for the same function. It lacks the micro vial for tiny quantities, but is a tenth the price and seems to work well for mica. http://www.silver-seal.com/product/10003A/Powder-Atomizer-for-Crack-Detection-Kit.html?met...

Re: The Problem with Paint

I use Matthews all the time. Our shop chose Matthews because it is spec'd often in the institutional and ADA work we do as a large part of the business. I am not a product expert, but will given you my opinion based on used it for years. The first issue you ask about is suitability/workability/etc. ...

Re: Thom Byrne

Thom was a really good guy. I only saw him once a year, but it was always like it’d only been a couple days. Every year, he kept a smile on my face and a laugh in my belly. It says a lot that the passing of a man I saw once a year brings a tear to my eye and regret to my heart. I look forward to Feb...

By the way, if you let the matthews cure a couple days, 1Shot lays down on it nice. We rarely do so because speed is the bosses priority.

Just to be sure I’m talking the right product, I assume we are talking about Matthews Acrylic Polyurethane. I use Matthews Paint regularly and have had to figured a lot out on my own. Re: Surface Gold Failure

I am hoping to get clarification about the mix on the Luna size. Contacted them and ordered a can of each (they described as slow size and quick size in their emails). Rereading this post as I prepared for a job, I began to wonder if there are actually three speeds of Luna size and if so, which ones...

Re: screwing HDU test?

While there are complex tools for measuring holding power, most tests come down to applying increasing force in the desired direction until failure is reached. The poorman's means of doing this would be to secure your HDU off the ground with the mount facing down, mount a backet hanging directed dow...

Materials from the Memorial Conclave

A few people at this years Memorial Conclave were interested in were to get stuff I brought. While I'm guessing I'm posting in the wrong place, at least I can get the information out those that were interested. I don't make any money out of this so hopefully it's acceptable. Most people were interes...
