Patrick You missed the best bit out about the Squeal. It drives other people mad, and if you do not lift of the stone, and you are working on a thin glass or odd shape the end drops off. :oops:

But its strange but some of the acid door side panels are in lot of other books I have seen there must have been a lot of copying going on.

No problem dead easy. Erik will be doing this after he has been on the course. Bloke selling is having a laugh $20,000 at 2 dollars to the pound that would give me about 10 weeks to do job, 2 weeks to do job and 8 weeks holiday. That would do me.

Hi erik No I did not do this mirror. but my workshop used to be in the same building with company that supplied them, hence how I came to do one to match using powers as a start. Dave Knows the man now retired in Ireland who used to do then in hastings England. He used a lot of screens in the making...

Stuart, I like those brilliant cut letters in embossed panels. I have wondered if those various wheel cut letters were invented by each cutter as their own idea and style, or learned in an apprenticeship as standardized brilliant cut fonts. Painted mirror

Found old photo of mirror I did a few years back. Painted gold leaf, acid etched and brilliant cutting. Brilliant cut lettering looks good gold leafed and with black out line.

One fourth of my new toys, bevelling machines. Here I am smoothing bevel prier to polishing.

I came by then just before xmass, Kestral glass shut down Peter a brilliant cutting of long standing retired and no one wanted to buy him out. So sold off his equipment.
