Re:

She painted it on with a brush and let it dry hard (at least overnight) before blasting. When you're done you j...

Buying Asphaltum in the UK - question 2019

Hi all, I have a question that I am hoping someone will know the answer to. I appreciate most people on here don;t live in the UK and very few live in Europe. I was wondering where I could source Asphaltum without having to ship it in from the USA. I have looked around and found that Asphaltum, as u...

Re: Does anyone know what this font is called

Pierre is right, thats a signwriters hand, It does bear some similarity to "Boston Ballpark" which is a hand made font. Have a look here and maybe ask if they can replicate it, if they havnt already done so. https://www.letterheadfonts.com/index.php (I do like to check, I think this is one of Mike J...

A Guide to American Cut and Engraved Glassware by James M. Havens

My wife is an avid collector of cut glass and in particular Waterford Crystal to the extent that we have visted there and I am both interested and amazed at some of the work I have seen displayed there. Cut glass may be slightly off topic to the forum but it does reveal the interesting techniques us...

Interesting web Site

Hi all, Whilst researching Victorian ephemera for the Bristol UK area I came across this little website that is cataloguing British Industrial History. There is a lot of interesting little titbits on the site, it can be a bit of a search if you do’t know who you are looking for but there may well be...

Re: The Forum vs Facebook

Facebook is just a fad that will pass away in time, wasn't there something similar called Bebo or something? Then there was freinds reunited, thats gone. I wonder if Ancestry will keep going, maybe it will as it covers a world wide hobby. People are only currently attracted to facebook because they ...

Re: Lettering on cloth

You need to seal with a clear coat, over in the UK they use GAC 500 and then again with the same stuff to finish, I don't know if you get it in the US of A. It's use is to seal the material and prevent bleed as the clear coat will already have done it. You might also consider using it when using col...

Re: Sand Blasting/Etching

What sort of thing are you after? you have several choices of medium sand, AI, Sc. If you are looking for fine art application you are looking at small nozzle sizes. Take a look at stuff like the PAB Gun, they are in the USA and are online here http://www.pabblaster.com/index.php

This is a beautiful piece Erik, a fitting testament to both your mother and you.
I understand exactly why she told you to be moderate and not go over the top.
Less is more and this piece reflects that.
