Peel wet or dry?

I realize that this is kind of on the edges of hand lettering, but a necessary process for this poor signmaking wannabe - Actually I'm thinking of how I can use a computer cut stencil for doing gold leaf work on some gift projects. The order of steps are obvious to me, but the timing is my question....

Danny, being a tool junkie, I recieved a couple of laser levels this last Christmas from family members. One was in the $25-30 range and the other was around $60. I would say not to even bother with the cheaper ones. Not very practical in my opinion. The $60 one also has the advantage of having a st...

Interesting site

After reading the Nole Weber's Guilder's tips article (which also had quotes from Rick and Kent), I followed some of the links at the bottom of the page. I found this one to be quite interesting:

Raymond, If you're talking about the white dry erase type of boards they're very difficult to decorate. I believe that they have a silicone coating on them to make them clean up so easily. I think you'd have to get through that before you put any kind of paint or ink on them. I don't know if there's...

What I usually do is weed it when it's on the transfer tape. Kind of an intermediate level of tack between traditional and weeding after it's applied.

Mike, 3M has a product just for this. 3640-114 Graphic protection film. Apply it over your finished sign like a laminate and most markings -sharpies, spray paint, magic marker, etc can be removed with a little solvent. Gloss finish too. Looks nice.

The gerbermask1 was a thought behind the question as I have used that when routing Sintra painted with a 2part Urethane Paint with excellent results. The difference could be in the paint surface itself. Thanks for the explanation of other uses as well

Danny, What is kolin powder and what is the purpose of it? I've seen it mentioned here before, but never really knew.
